Nintendo has formally announced the next iteration of the Pokemon series, "Pokemon Platinum", meant to be a follow-up to 'Pokemon Diamond' and 'Pokemon Pearl'.
"Pokemon Platinum" is slated for a Japan release in the coming months. Though worldwide release dates are still under cover, it is estimated the game will hit stores around the world in a few days after its Japan release.
'Pokemon Diamond' and 'Pokemon Pearl' haven't been received too well, mainly because of identical game play and story line. So to infuse new life into the series, Nintendo has promised a number of new elements including Girathina, a Pokemon, in a completely new avatar.
