Airtel has come out with a new service for its landline customers, wherein the company is making the monthly payment of bills a hassle-free task.
Airtel has come out with a new service for its landline customers, wherein the company is making the monthly payment of bills a hassle-free task.
The company said that Airtel landline customers can now pay their landline bills by calling on 080-41144114 at no additional service cost and a call from Airtel landline to this number is absolutely free.
This service involves customers paying by their credit card, and Airtel guarantees that all credit card information will be kept completely confidential and secure, as the company is utilizing industry standard security technology used for credit card transactions.
According to Airtel, the process of payment of the bill is very simple. An interactive voice recognition based system guides customers to pay the bill, which simply includes entering the landline number, then the credit card details, and finally they have to confirm their intent to pay. Immediately after this process, one gets a confirmation of the successful completion of the payment in the same call.
On successful launch of this service, Prem Pradeep, Chief Executive Officer - South Central, Airtel Broadband and Telephone Services, said, "Airtel strives to offer convenient services to its customers and this is a step in that direction. Airtel is the first to offer this service to its customers in Karnataka, India."
To begin with, this service has been implemented in the state of Karnataka and the company intends to deploy it in other states as well. And apart from English, this service is available in Kannada language, developed and deployed by OnMobile, one of the leading telecom Value Added Service Providers who have successfully deployed speech recognition based applications in 10 Indian regional languages for wireless and wire-line telecom operators.
OnMobile, which has developed and manages this voice based bill-payment service, also manages the Voice application, real-time integration with Billing systems and credit card payment systems.
Balachandran Unni, Director - M-Commerce and Mobile Marketing, OnMobile, said, "This service has been developed with industry standard security technologies, thus making credit card payments extremely secure. Currently we have more than 1000 subscribers who have used this service. OnMobile will be adding more convenient payment modes like cheque pick-up to address a larger customer base."

Whenever I am trying to contact my international friends, my relatives etc. the amount is deducted per minutes eventhough the person not even answers (even not pick the phone) several times I loose my money while I make even missed call. How it is possible?

Your "OVER EFFICIENT" services of acknowledging your customers about their bills raised, bills dispatched, bills received at the customer's premises, payment received, promotional tele-calling and bla bla. This is nothing but unwanted harassment for the customer. To become number one service provider in all respects you are ruining customer's privacy.
