Panasonic's Total Living Space Solution

Panasonic's Total Living Space Solution

Techtree News Staff, Sep 30, 2008 1731 hrs IST

Get ready for some home-networking, and a few more hours in front of your large screen TV - to keep you fit!

One among the several innovations that visitors got to see at the opening day at the CEATEC exhibition at Japan was Panasonic's Total Living Space Solution, a living room/kitchen area that puts all home gadgets and appliances on an interconnected network.

The system is clever enough to dim the lights when you switch on the video player, or brighten up the kitchen when you enter it.

Additionally, Panasonic also has on display "The Family Wellness Solution," sort of an advanced version of the Wii Fit. It comprises a video-based instructor for a personalized workout for individual family members, in case they do not wish to sweat it out with a regular exercise regime. Personal fitness profiles can be developed, so the progress of each family member can be tracked.

To add a dash of green to all this electronic comfort, you might just be pleased to learn that you can monitor and optimize the whole system's energy consumption.

An enterprising concept from Panasonic, but this is something that's going to take a few years to reach your neighborhood electronics shopping mall.
