Palm has introduced the Palm Z22 organizer, the company's smallest color organizer so far.
With this move, Palm is said to be targeting the $1 billion per year paper-planner market. Palm's Z22 organizer promises to offer paper-planner users and others, a simple and fun way to stay organized. For the benefit of paper planner users, the Z22 comes along with an organizational booklet.
The Palm Z22 weighs less 100gms, and is about the size of a deck of cards. It has a white front and translucent blue back, and sports a bright color display. The handheld incorporates software like calendar, contacts, memos, tasks, note pad, calculator, world clock, photos, a new game called Crazy Daisy, etc.
Palm has included a software CD along with the organizer; which contains an eBook reader with three books and a dictionary, a powerOne Calculator, and SplashShopper - a shopping list application.
According to Palm, its Z22 enables easy organization of information, keeping track of information and keeping it safe, reminders regarding important events, time saving, etc.
Paul Blinkhorn, vice president, Palm Asia Pacific, said, "The Palm Z22 organizer was built on the success of the original Zire handheld, which sold more than 1 million units, in its first seven months on the market. With its highly desirable design and sleek form-factor, the Palm Z22 is perfect for first-time users, who can now throw away their paper planners, replacing scratched-out pages and dozens of sticky notes, and for the style conscious to keep their lives and information organized in a single device, and yet be an avenue for expressing their individual style and taste."
The Palm Z22 organizer is available at major IT retail outlets and resellers, at a recommended retail price of Rs 8,500.
