Opera Software has released Opera Mini 3.0, the latest version of its free Web browser that can run on most mobile phones.
The company says that this upgraded version introduces new features, including photo sharing, a built-in RSS feed reader, and secure connections. And as it features secure SSL connections, Opera Mini makes all Web transactions safe, including banking or shopping on eBay or Amazon.
Besides, Opera Mini is not tied to any single service, so it can be used to browse and upload pictures to all online community sites, including MySpace, Blogger, Flickr, Facebook, and My Opera, as well as to use popular Web mail sites such as Hotmail, Gmail, and Yahoo! Mail in a secure fashion.
Opera Mini 3.0 is globally available, and can be downloaded free of charge from the Opera Software Web site at http://www.operamini.com/. It can be downloaded in three ways, as an SMS attachment, as a WAP download, or downloaded to the user's PC and then transferred over via Bluetooth or USB attachment. The download comes in the form of a Java-based application separated into .jar and .jad files.
Jon Von Tetzchner, Chief Executive Officer of Opera Software, said, "We are excited to improve on the mobile Web experience that has already been so well received by both end users and distributors. I think the main reason for Mini's success is that it, for the first time, allows millions of people to use their mobile phones to access the same Web sites they do from their desktop."
