Online Archive of UFO Sightings
Techtree News Staff Email Print
Jan 2, 2007
The year 2007 has brought with it plans for a new surfing destination for Space fans. Reportedly, the French space agency has decided to publish its archive of UFO (Unidentified Flying Object) sightings and other phenomena online.

According to Jacques Arnould, an official at France's National Space Studies Centre (CNES), the agency had been collecting statements and documents on UFOs for almost 30 years. This database of around 1,600 incidents would go live in late January or mid-February.

A spokesperson for the French Space Agency said that the statements have been collected from people who claim to have sighted UFOs, or from airline pilots. However, names of people who've reported sightings will not be published so as to protect their privacy.

Arnould added that the tremendous advances in technology over the past three decades had prompted CNES' decision to put UFO sightings online.

Presently, the collection consists of around 6,000 reports, of which many are related to the same incident, filed by public and airline professionals.

Looking at the success of films like ET, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Independence Day, and so on, CNES expects its online archive to be nothing short of a hit.

Most likely, the whole lot of content on the UFO sightings archive will be made available via the CNES Web site, www.cnes.fr.

I am from India, and in the ancient religuous texts, it clearly mentions of other planets existing with life and people paying visits to earth. It is gross ignorance to think we are alone in this universe.

Its only logical that a World Forum is constituted comprising of all Scientific Branches of Science related to the study of UFO's and make a joint declaration on the facts per se.We might have to live with the fact that we are NOT ALONE!!Let's face it then,I'm sure it cant be worse than AIDS or Tsunamis!!

A scientist acquaintance told me he doesn't believe in what I saw. I know what I saw, and I marvel at the incredible richness and mystery of life. Too bad some don't believe. What a narrow, egocentric outlook they have...and what a shame.

Just knowing the vastness of the universe, you would have to be an extremely errogant idiot, to think we are alone. Are there UFO's? Definately. Are they extraterestrial? Without disclosure (total & honest) we may never know. Are the governments hiding information? Of course, about many things, why not UFO's. Will we ever get full disclosure? Hopefully, This site sounds as though it will be interesting and a step in the right direction. Hope for the best.

Belief is always a matter of faith, whether it's staring you in the face through a photograph, or the window you're looking out at the sky from. Your eyes give you testimony you have to believe in just the same as words on a page or words in your ear. I know what I saw. It's for real.

I am impressed with the fact you have the courage to do so it shows to me that you have the integrity and honesty towards the general public that so many other governments lack.

I hope the site contains variable information and comments about each and every photo. Currently the UFO community as a whole works very hard to provide beleivability to its "product". If done right this site could not only take the comunity to a more respectiable position in the main stream. If done the way I would like to see it done maby we will soon be able to denounce the hoxers and elivate true "contact" to the exposure it deservers

We can only comment on it when they show us all the details. It is very hard to believe though, just like any photo or video showing ghosts. We have to believe that the photos they show are not morphed or they are not only illusions. Wait and watch..
