Just 3 days after launch, Apple sold 1 million iPhone 3G devices and saw 10 million app downloads
Just three days after the iPhone 3G release, Apple has sold one million devices and 10 million App Store applications have been downloaded, it was announced earlier today. Despite problems over the weekend, this is perhaps the most successful Apple product launch yet.
"iPhone 3G had a stunning opening weekend," said Steve Jobs, Apple's CEO. It took 74 days to sell the first one million original iPhones, so the new iPhone 3G is clearly off to a great start around the world. Apple also pointed out that more than 800 native applications are currently available on the App Store, with more than 200 offered for free and more than 90 percent priced at less than $10.
