Maxtor's OneTouch II, an external drive allows users to back up important personal and business data at the touch of a button.
Storage company Maxtor, has launched OneTouch II, an external drive that allows consumers to back up family photos, MP3 music collections and other important personal and business data at the touch of a button.
According to the company, setting up the drive is a simple task.
The ease of use in the drive comes from an exclusive version of Dantz Retrospect software for the backup. Other features include the DriveLock for added data protection and more powerful restore capabilities, including historical backup recover.
"Combine all this with a new, consumer-friendly user interface, and the most difficult part of a backup solution may be choosing which capacity drive to buy," said Yogesh Kamat, sales manager, Indian subcontinent, Maxtor.
"The new Maxtor OneTouch II drive is unequaled in its intuitive functionality," he said. "We listened to our customers and incorporated features and functions that improve upon our existing solution. The Maxtor OneTouch family continues to be a leading external hard drive for consumers, creative professionals, mobile warriors and small-business users."
The Maxtor OneTouch II drive sports a new, sophisticated, contemporary look that suits a home or office setting and distinguishes it from competing products, the company stated.
The new drive comes with a 7200RPM 300GB or 250GB hard drive with a 16MB buffer. Both feature a combo FireWire/USB 2.0 interface for easy connection to a Mac or PC. The drives are available through Maxtor's network of leading retailers, distributors and online stores.
Suggested retail price is approximately Rs. 19000 for 300GB and Rs. 16,500 for 250GB. Additional capacities will be rolled out later this year.

I recently got a 120Gb Seagate Barracuda HDD, and fitted it into an Intex external hard drive cover. Works on USB2.0. Cost just Rs. 6000/- (In pune). Works absolutely fine.

Bit costly, better buy an IOMEGA 120GB Ext. HDD as it costs only Rs 9350/-
