Pirate Bay's reputation as a defender of Internet freedoms just got stronger.
Known for being a bit of a rebel (an online one at that) the Pirate Bay has added one more feather to its cap in the form of "Baywords", an uncensored blogging service that uses Wordpress as blogging engine. "Baywords" is intended to be 'the place' for bloggers who want to write freely without fear of being pulled up by their blog host.
The philosophy of "Baywords" is there to see on its homepage which says, "Many blogs are being shut down for uncomfortable thoughts and ideas. We will not do that. Our goal is to protect freedom of speech and your thoughts. As long as you don't break any Swedish laws in your blog, we will defend it."
One of the co-founders, Brokeup, said the idea to start "Baywords" spawned when the Web log of one of his buddies was taken down from Wordpress recently for linking to copyrighted material. Meanwhile, the Pirate Bay assures that moving your existing blogs from Wordpress or Blogger to "Baywords" would be pretty simple. On signing-up though, you need to initiate a blog within two days else you'll have to sign-up all over again.
There's already an uncensored image hosting service from the Pirate Bay at: http://bayimg.com/ with YouTube rumored to follow suit with its own version at: http://thevideobay.org/.
As long as its not racist, Long Live the pirate!!!!
