Finally, the gateway to hell is here! The original Doom Classic game hits the Apple App Store for iPhone platform. John Carmack, technical director, id Software has been the mastermind behind the Doom series and is also working on Doom's port for the iPhone platform.

This game is available in the Apple App Store for $6.99 (Rs. 336 approx.) and can be downloaded from this iTunes link. Unfortunately, this game is not available yet in the Indian App Store and also in Germany due to censorship issues.

Doom Classic, the legendary first person shooter game from John Carmack, has finally seen the day light. Back in June, id Software had released the Doom Resurrection game designed from advanced graphics engine for iPhone and iPod Touch. Doom Classic includes the three original episodes and also the Episode Four - Thy Flesh Consumed which is spread across 36 levels of non-stop shooting action.

Doom Classic has customizable control schemes. Carmack appreciated that Doom port to iPhone but wasn't happy with the functional controls scheme. Hence, Carmack himself worked on the Doom Classic controls and also has some good 24-bit lightening in it.

Over wireless connection, up to four players can battle in the Deathmatch mode or fight together against the monsters from hell. The game also allows users to use their own music files from iPod or iPhone.
