Notes from Intel Developer Forum

This edition of the IDF will be remembered for the huge impetus it gave Mobile Internet Devices and for significant announcements regarding desktop platforms.
The recently concluded Intel Developer Forum was a platform for Intel and its associates to showcase the various possibilities and innovations aimed at bringing the digital world and the virtual world closer.
The three-day mega event, one of the largest of its kind, was inaugurated on the 19th of August and concluded on the 21st. The first edition of the event was held back in 1997. IDF is usually a biannual event with the two editions held almost five months apart. However, in the recent years, there have been three events, with the last two events falling barely two months apart.
In 2007, the IDF started off with the first edition in Beijing, which was followed by the San Francisco edition in September, and barely a month later, the Taiwanese IDF was held in October. In 2008, the first of the three events concluded at Shanghai and the most recent one at San Francisco. One more edition is scheduled in October this year, at Taipei. India too has had the opportunity to host the event in the past, with Mumbai and Bangalore hosting it once each.
In recent years, the IDF had offered complete nirvana to anyone obsessed with Intel and devices based on Intel products. With a large number of Intel partners making a beeline in showcasing the latest technologies and concepts, IDF has always been a geek's paradise. This time was no exception.
