Nokia and Red Hat have announced a collaboration to develop carrier-grade telecommunications solutions that meet the high performance and availability requirements of operators.
As part of the deal, Nokia will deploy Red Hat Enterprise Linux as its primary operating system for carrier-grade platforms; while Red Hat will provide Nokia with onsite consulting, support, certification, and training services.
Besides, the two teams will work together closely towards development of these high-end telecommunications solutions.
Juha Carlson, General Manager of Product Platforms at Nokia, said,

Paul Cormier, Executive Vice President of Engineering at Red Hat, said, "The Red Hat Enterprise Linux platform has long been known for high levels of reliability and availability in situations where downtime is not an option. Working with Nokia, we plan to make our solution for the telecommunications industry even stronger. We are especially pleased to have gained the confidence of Nokia's Networks Group as evidenced by their decision to use Red Hat Enterprise Linux as its primary operating system."
This will be really good, & customer will enjoy working on the linux platform.
