Nokia N82 Launched in India

Techtree News Staff, Dec 12, 2007 1112 hrs IST

Featuring a 5 mega pixels camera, Xenon flash, Carl Zeiss optics, and Internet connectivity, the Nokia N82 is one more addition to the Nokia Nseries.

Now, the latest Nokia Nseries handset N82, optimized for photography, navigation, and internet connectivity, is available in the country.

Featuring 5 mega pixels camera, Xenon flash, Carl Zeiss optics, and Internet connectivity, the Nokia N82 incorporates all the multimedia computer features common to Nseries handsets.

The camera features autofocus with a dedicated autofocus assist lamp and promises fast consecutive shots, and DVD-quality video capture.

With the high-speed Wi-Fi connectivity and one-click upload, you can upload images and videos even while continuing to use the device for other purposes.

The N82 features a powerful Assisted-GPS (A-GPS) and pre-installed Nokia Maps, which enables you to explore and locate new places across the globe. The standard sales kit of Nokia N82 includes a free voice guided navigation trial for 3 months: you'd have to purchase additional features such as city guides and extended navigation subscription.

The N82 comes with a new content driven 3D multimedia menu and includes a convenient orientation sensor, which rotates the user interface automatically between horizontal and portrait modes. (This feature is also available on Apple iPhone and Sony Ericsson W910i.)

The N82 is bundled with a 2GB microSD card that can store up to 900 high-resolution photos or up to 84 minutes of high quality video.

The Nokia Nseries N82 is available for Rs 28,379.

Can any one please compare phones optimized for music player, phone, camera(in that order).I heard a friend's Sony Ericson model playing music through it's speaker(not headphones.wearing headphone is not cofortable always) which sounded too good. How does Nokia/Motorola/LG compare on that front? I am not talking about too expensive models you know. Good Music playback through speaker , longer battery life, decent phone features,entry/moderate camera. any comments are welcome.

prasad | indore | 13/12/07 09:21 AM | Report abuse Reply

Comparing the music feature Sony is the best. P1i with Bose speakers is awesome.

Hey rexdude, before you get so high and mighty, there are customers who don't like certain aspects of the phone. They are just voicing their opinions...Do you want everyone to come in this Forum and start praising N82 to the skies! Having said that, i must say you have made some valid points there. Cheers!

Vivek | Bangalore | 15/12/07 11:46 AM | Report abuse Reply

What about TV watching feature ? Price is too much. Don't waste your money. For this money one could help a crying child with hunger. With this money you could help povery ridden people who look forward for food pieces left by us in plates. If you want to be different take photo from your old camera of human beings who are in utter distress, and moments of avoidable problems that should be published so that all of us know that how poors and unlucky humans are begging for help.

Dev | Lucknow | 15/12/07 09:36 AM | Report abuse Reply

N82 seems like an all in one mini magic stick in our hands.let all wait nd see how much it can succed in market without any bugs.upto now i blv nokia n73 is d ever best phone i saw with awesome perfomance

vincent | Hyderabad | 15/12/07 03:06 AM | Report abuse Reply

Why's everyone so critical? The phone's just been launched! As with any other product, the price will come down in a few months. If you want to show off that you have it, only then rush out and buy. Me-I'll wait for it to come down to around 20-22k I sure like this-same form factor as the N73 (which I have) with the extra goodies of the N95 (GPS/Wifi/5 mp camera) To Vivek Kapoor-if you enjoy carrying 3 different devices (and their chargers) all the time, more power to you. Integrating all these functions onto a smaller device is quite a challenge, one that Nokia has held upto easily. And as for memory-you get 8 GB and above microSD cards these days, and the microSD card standard supports upto 32 GB currently. To Nikki from Ahmedabad-stick with low end phones if you prefer them, why even bother posting on an article about a new smartphone?? To pavan from bangalore-if it isn't painfully obvious, this is like the N95 in a candybar form factor, for those who don't prefer sliding phones. It's also lighter and slimmer. Bah..why do Indians have to bicker so much on price?? If you don't like it/can't afford it, don't buy it. These phones are there precisely because there IS a market for them, there ARE people who can afford to and are buying them!! And for #%$#'s sake, please learn some English before posting here!!

dumb phone, n95 is better than that (still it hs some bugs), or n73 is the last best/ stable handset from nokia.

manoj | pune | 12/12/07 04:32 PM | Report abuse

Using N70M for a year now and still find the features good and phone is much stable. Good battery life. Dont want to try a new one now, but wait for more touch phones to come. One already out in market is PRADA from LG. Good one but not too much features.

ya dear manju its nokia

mihir | chennai | 13/12/07 06:00 PM | Report abuse

Rs 2000 for a mobile (only mobile) Rs 6000 for a 7 mega pixel camera Rs 10000 for an iPod. It adds to Rs 18,000, discounts and cash back are not included yet. Even then N82 cannot hold the memory of the products combined. N82 price cannot be digested with these facts. The price should have been less than the combined prices, since we loose on many features of the individual products.

Vivek Kapoor | Bangalore | 13/12/07 12:42 PM | Report abuse Reply

VERY NICE WAY TO JUDGE THIS PRODUCT.

simple mobile of 1500 to 2500 r better than any other mobile as the battery life is longer and if it fall or lost than it will be not too much of lost as if u take a mobile there is wastage of money and time so its gud to take the simple nokia 1100 or 3310 or ans simple nokia mobile

Why does Nokia not come out with a larger screen size & a processor as fast as, if not faster than, the iPhone. Then, my dream will come true indeed !!

LuFons | Mumbai | 12/12/07 08:21 PM | Report abuse Reply

nokia is going crazy, still pumping out so many high end phones, at ever-increasing prices. they shud think of increasing features, and steadily decreasing the cost of the phone. this will drive their revenue cos many more ppl would want to buy the phones. and their launches are almost the same with a few differences, nokia is not a company that challenges itself.. too bad it's the market leader

blah blah | hyd | 12/12/07 07:25 PM | Report abuse Reply

I'd rather get an Iphone from Us for 16,000 and unlock it... what a wate of money..

Anonymous | B'lore | 12/12/07 06:41 PM | Report abuse Reply

You obviously have no idea about phones. Iphone is the most crappy phone feature wise, it has sexy looks but zero brains.
