Introduced in August this year, the service was originally slated for an official launch in November.
Once again Nokia has delayed the launch of its N-gage gaming service, citing the reason as software testing taking longer than expected.
Introduced in August this year, the service was originally slated for an official launch in November.
The first delay pushed it back to December, and now Nokia has pushed it even further to early 2008. Interestingly, the reason given for the earlier delay was the same as for this one.
According to a Nokia spokesperson, there's an issue with the software that's been identified, but needs to be resolved before the service goes live. Which will take a few weeks, and hence the launch has been pushed back to early 2008.
The N-gage gaming service will have a music shop and mapping services. The indicative pricing for N-Gage games to be sold at the store will range between 6 and 10 Euros (between Rs 350 and Rs 570), and they can be bought on credit.

Ngage Classic and Ngage QD are a thing of the past, Year 2008, Ngage is a platform now and there is no wierd shaped console that it's tied to. Almost all Symbian OS 9 based Nokia phones (read N series and many other) support it. If you play games like Pathway to Glory or Tomb Raider on the original Ngage, you'd realize how superior a graphics quality these phones could deliver deliver at that time, Ngage compatible phones these days like N95, N93, N82 etc have 3D acceleration hardware built in, you can only imagine how good that'd be.

N gage is history ...no amount of tweaking or software testing is going to resurrect its lost glory...The thing to watch out for in the near future would be a fone from Sony ericsson ...which would combine a PSP as well ....I am waiting for it ...Are u?
