Nokia said the successor to the Nokia 6300, the Nokia 6300i, is arriving soon.
Do you remember the Nokia 6300 that was launched in India around a year ago? Well, even if you don't, it's okay, because you'll soon be able to catch up with its new and improved cousin, the Nokia 6300i that's arriving soon, the company said.
For the 6300i that runs on Nokia's S40 software platform, the company has decided to hang on to the looks and the basic functionality of the 6300. The phone will look more or less the same as its predecessor; it's bestowed with a 2-inches QVGA TFT display, a 2 mega pixels camera, a microSD memory card slot, and a 2.5 mm audio connector.
The upcoming tri-band GSM-enabled phone boasts of Wi-fi and VoIP functionality for making calls, among a host of other connectivity options like GPRS and EDGE (both Class 10), and stereo Bluetooth. The flip side: it gives Infrared and 3G a miss. It also supports Nokia Maps, for those who never want to lose their way around.
Nokia 6300i is expected to be made available in the international market by the second quarter this year. It will be made available in a Graphite Grey color scheme for a price in the region of 175 euros (Rs 11,093), exclusive of taxes.

6300i is a upgrade of 6300 as its not tied to operators like 6301 is (due to its UMA functionality).

I have used 6300 and all the features are good except one, and without which the fone is as good as a brick - BATTERY BACKUP! I had a horrible time using it and it used to die down after a few hours of talk and multimedia apps. Lets c if Nokia can rectify it, b4 offering a host of features
