Nikon D3x DSLR Revealed

Hi-end camera for the professionals
After teasing users with details regarding the new D3x, leaked in its Nikon Pro Magazine, Nikon has finally unveiled the much anticipated range of DSLRs for professionals.
The freshly unveiled D3x will have an FX-format 24.5-megapixel sensor, which supports shoots of up to five frames per second in full resolution; at 10 megapixels, it can shoot 7 frames per second. Apart from this, the ISO range has been extended to
50-6400. Other functions remain the same as those found in the current D3 line-up.
The sensor offers an optical low-pass filter and measures 35.9mm x 24mm. The start-up time is quoted as 12ms in the magazine, and the shutter lag time as 41ms.
On the storage front, it sports two CF card slots with a write speed of 35MB per second. It also sports a crisp 3-inch LCD screen at the rear. For more details and specifications click here.
The Nikon D3X will be available with Nikon Authorized Professional Dealers from December 2008, and will be available for an estimated selling price of (hold your breath!) $7999.95.
