At the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) held in China, Microsoft Chairman, Bill Gates, said that the next big success in the world of technology will come from Asia.
Gates said that Asia will increasingly become a source of technological innovation. This is true as it is well recognized that investment and changes in Asia are leading to innovative work in the field of technology.
Gates further said that it is not just Asia who will benefit from the uses of new technology but that Asia will serve as the major source of breakthroughs and advances in technology.
At a survey held in the US, Gates asked, 'where would the next big success be, and where the next Bill Gates would come from,' and 60 percent of the people answered Asia.
Microsoft's first research centre in Asia was established around 10 years back, and now there are 20 such centers.
Gates also mentioned that the quality of work being done at these centers was among the best in the world, to the extent that the company was planning to more than double the staff at its campuses in Beijing and Shanghai.
