Palm launches the Palm Treo 800w with integrated WiFi radio and GPS receiver.
Palm's new smart phone, Treo 800w, hit the US market through Sprint Nextel network. This is Palm's first major new model since the Centro was launched last year.
The major new features of the Palm Treo 800w are the integrated WiFi radio and GPS receiver. The phone runs on Windows Mobile 6.1 and can access the Internet with Sprint's broadband network or through a local Wi-Fi connection. The handset comes with a chip that allows for fast uploads off of Sprint's EVDO Rev A network.
The Treo 800w also has a 320-by-320 touchscreen and measures 2.2 by 4.41 by 0.73 inches.

Did you know that Palm handsets have an extremely poor battery life? They need repetitive charging during the day. I have used a Palm Treo 600, 650 and then a 680. Another problem I encountered with all these sets was that I was unable to type sms' over 160 characters.
