Nokia introduced two new models at the ongoing CeBit in Hanover in Germany: the Nokia 6650 and the Nokia 6124 Classic.
At the ongoing CeBit 2008 in Hanover in Germany, Nokia has introduced the Nokia 6650 and the Nokia 6124 Classic; a case of old wine in a new bottle (old model numbers with 'Classic' thrown in) or simply superstition on the part of the Finnish phone maker.
Ironically, a Nokia 6650 was launched at the CeBit 2003; one of the first 3G phones on the market. Nevertheless, the "new" Nokia 6650 (teamed-up with carrier T-Mobile) is a clamshell with wireless connectivity and multimedia features.
The phone features a 2 mega pixels camera with LED flash, 2.2-inches TFT QVGA color display, integrated AGPS, microSD card slot to supplement 30MB of internal memory, FM radio, and HSDPA connectivity.
This Nokia 6650 will be on sale from the third quarter on numerous European T-Mobile networks. Nothing on the price of the phone yet.
The second Nokia phone that walked this year's CeBit ramp was the Nokia 6124 classic; a smart phone featuring a 2.0-inches display, 2 mega pixels camera with flash and panorama mode, and external memory card slot allowing memory expansion up to 8GB. The phone promises superior data rates with 3G Broadband, offering downloads up to 10 times faster than 3G networks.
Launched in collaboration with Vodafone, the new 6124 is slated for release in the second quarter this year.
