The new graphics accelerator integrates the latest Nvidia technologies for enhanced graphics resolution.
Gigabyte has launched their new GeForce 9800 GX2 graphics accelerator dubbed GV-NX98X1GHI-B. It features Nvidia's dual on-board graphics processors, 1GB GDDR3 memory, and 256 stream processors for 3D game rendering.
The GV-NX98X1GHI-B supports native High Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) and integrates Quad Nvidia SLI Technology that enables performance scaling by implementing 4-way AFR (Alternate Frame Rendering). The card integrates latest Nvidia technologies such as GigaThread technology, Quantum Effects technology, and Extreme High Definition (XHD) for enhanced graphics resolution. GigaThread technology uses a massively multi-threaded architecture to create thousands of independent, simultaneous threads that provide extreme processing efficiency for advanced, next generation shader programs. On the other hand, Quantum Effects technology enables a new level of physics effects to be simulated and rendered on the GPU, the company claims. With integrated XHD, the card supports the latest video output interfaces, including Dual Dual-Link DVI, for the highest dual screen resolution of 2,560 x 1,600 pixels.
The card also features the Lumenex engine, which introduces 16x Anti-aliasing and 128-bit floating point High-Dynamic-Range (HDR), for ultra realistic rendering of lighting effects. Differing from past GPU generations, the GeForce 9800GX2 features a dedicated on-chip video processor for superb picture quality and ultra-smooth video playback.
