Stylus R290 can print 37 pages per minute (ppm) of A4-sized black text documents and 38 ppm of colour documents
Epson has launched a new single-function inkjet photo printer, the Stylus Photo R290.
The R290 has a print speed of 37 pages per minute (ppm) for A4-sized black text documents and 38 ppm for colour documents. Meanwhile, the draft 4R photos can be printed in just 12 seconds, the company claims.
The printer employs Epson Claria Photographic Inks and a six INKdividual cartridge system. According to the company, the inks are formulated to guard against fading for up to 200 years (in dark album storage conditions).
Equipped with the Micro Piezo print head and Advanced Variable Sized Droplet Technology (VSDT), the R290 eliminates the risk of heat build up in the print head after prolonged continuous usage.
The R290 comes bundled with the Epson PhotoEnhance and PortraitEnhance software. The PhotoEnhance software makes automatic corrections of common photography flaws such as poor colour balance and contrast; while the latter helps boost face definition and skin radiance in photos.
Also capable of printing onto the surface of CD/DVDs, the Epson Stylus Photo R290 is priced at Rs.11500.
