Which means that with 'iASign', the iPhone can be used with any AT&T/Cingular SIM card sans the need for a new contract with AT&T.

Less than a month since the launch of Apple Computer's much talked about iPhone, and hackers have reportedly already found a way to unlock it...

As of now, it is mandatory to get a new 2-year contract with AT&T to make the Apple iPhone work.

However a group of hackers that goes by the name 'iPhone Dev Wiki' has discovered 'iASign', a Mac application that promises to unlock the iPhone basis Device ID, IMEI (universal serial number), and ICCID (Integrated Circuit Card ID).

Which means that with 'iASign', the iPhone can be used with any AT&T/Cingular SIM card sans the need for a new contract with AT&T.

However, the hackers caution it's not an easy hack to crack, and that it requires some knowledge of the command line, etc.

Meanwhile, the hackers admit they are not even close to the 'full unlocking' of the iPhone. Yet, they've asked users to 'stay tuned' for further updates...
