NIIT Launches Special Programs

Training service provider NIIT is launching specialized programs for students to make them "industry-ready".
NIIT is launching a range of specialized education programs to provide, what it calls, a "cutting-edge start" to engineering and IT students.
NIIT's Engineering Series address four needs faced by engineering and IT students - the need for curriculum support, the need for enhancing skills in new technology, the need for global certification from IT software vendors and the need for placement assistance.
For the first category, NIIT has created a special series of curriculum support programs which are mapped to university curricula in specific IT technologies and aim to help engineering students improve their core-subject grades. These are modular programs, ranging from 30 to 70 hours and cover areas like databases, operating systems, languages and programming. Last year, these programs saw nearly 35,000 engineering and IT students enrolling.
In the second category, NIIT has designed advanced technology programs, varying from 40 to 150 hours, to enhance skills in new technologies. These are based on NIIT's market research of employable skills required in the IT industry. Last year, nearly 34,000 engineering and IT students enrolled for the programs.
The third category focuses on international certification programs that are being offered in alliance with global IT software vendors like Microsoft, Oracle and Citrix. NIIT will offer students short-term programs, which will equip them to qualify for global certificates in emerging technology platforms. According to NIIT, annually, more than 26,000 students and professionals appear for these certification exams.
The fourth category is the special fast-track ANIIT program, targeted exclusively at engineers. This program selectively chooses students, who, after successful completion of the ANIIT program, are provided placement assistance through NIIT's national placement network and its partners. This program was piloted in late 2004.
Announcing the new programs, Rajendra Pawar, Chairman, NIIT said, "NIIT's new initiative, designed exclusively for Engineering and IT students, will help create the base of specialized manpower that the country needs today."
Smarajit Dey, President, NIIT's Individual Learning Business in India said, "The NIIT for Engineers Series of programs will help Engineering and IT students emerge as industry-ready professionals, with the latest technology skills as well as relevant industry exposure."
The latest Nasscom Strategic Review has estimated that the total demand for IT services and software professionals in FY 2007-08 is estimated to exceed 1.1 million.

NIIT is charging Rs:31,461 for CCNA,which includes the CCNA exam fee($250) also.The course is for 2 months(N+ 45 days,CCNA 20 days) and they r assuring the job immediately after getting the CCNA certificate..which they say is easy to pass...(dumps)...i am not able to decide.. to join or not...cant beleive in NIIT but i hear that the CCNA has great demand....even IIHT is offering the networking courses-GIMS(Rs1,20,000+24months/12months)..can any one suggest me which inst (NIIT/IIHT) should i join,so that i can get a good job.Niit say that the starting pay will be around Rs18,000 atleast..is that true coz i am a b.tech fresher n i dont know much about the networking industry.Is CCNA certification sufficient to get a good job...?

hi sir i have a digree in bca and a pg diploma in advance computer. i want to join any short term course in delhi, ghaziabad, noida. i have seen a advertise of 4 month course after graduation.it partner wipro so please tell me when this course will start. and also the fee structure of this course
