    Microsoft has announced a single toll free BSNL/MTNL number, 1600 111100, for all customer and partner support in the country.

Microsoft has announced a single toll free BSNL/MTNL number, 1600 111100, for all customer and partner support in the country. The toll free number is an initiative to provide cost benefit to customers and partners, as they would not need to use an STD number to access support when required. Based on customer feedback, in September 2005 the toll free number was extended to 28 cities across the country. Further, the customer service and support offerings like Product Activation, Microsoft Education and Certification, Microsoft Partner Programs and Learning Solutions, First Support, Consumer Support, Developer Support, Certified Partner Support, Empower/ISV Advisory Services, Global Partner Support Delivery (PTS/TSC) and Global Partner Support Delivery (PTS/TSC) are now available from the toll free number to customers and partners across India. Manish Sinha, managing director - Asia Pacific Customer Service and Support, Microsoft said, "This initiative has been taken so that our customers are not required to be bound by locations and STD costs. They can access Microsoft deep technical expertise from a single number. The customer service and support organization represents the voice of the customer and I am extremely happy that we are able to provide our customers and partners with what they want in support." When asked about the customer feedback so far on this service initiative Sinha said, "The service went live only on Jan 13, 2005 so it may be premature to talk about it. However, the entire purpose of providing this service is based on feedback from customers and we will continue to evolve based on what we get to hear from them." The toll free number is accessible only from BSNL / MTNL phone lines. This according to Microsoft is because these are amongst the widest landline penetration in the country.

You can get toll free numbers access from every landline except Airtel. They have toll free numbers only for them selves. Digital TV has it. Broadband and landline no tollfree number from none other service provide than Airtel itself.

Dear, I have preinstalled Windows Vista home Basic, licence version in my laptop, due to some problem my hard disk crash. and I have lost my copied dump, I want to installed fresh copy windows Vista and right now I have only hallmark sticker. I have no DVD and cd of licence version. So please guide me to how to install and activate windows vista

Mostly they have thought of Mumbai - far off suburbs and Delhi where MTNL /BSNL are the dominant market holders of telecom services on the landline. I am sure you'll agree to that. And if you don't wish to simply spend money on your landline, you can always access Microsoft's Knowledgebase to get some support till they are ready with a toll - free number for all telecom service providers!
