Microsoft has recently unveiled a number of mobile initiatives for users in India.
Let's take a look at these:
MSN India's 'mobile browse portal' offers news, reviews, sports updates, lifestyle tips, all for free. Available across devices like Windows Mobile, Nokia, and Sony Ericsson, users can access this service (portal) through device support, else a GPRS connection. The MSN mobile browse portal is available on all operator networks that allow access to third party portals. To connect to the MSN mobile browse portal, go to http://msnmobile.in.
Earlier this year, Microsoft partnered Nokia to bring its Windows Live offerings to mobile users across the globe. With this, users of select Nokia N-Series and E-Series phones can access Windows Live Services, including Windows Live Hotmail, Windows Live Messenger, and Windows Live Spaces on their phones. The service, which is available in over 20 markets (excluding India), will soon be extended to Series 40 Nokia devices.
This apart, users of Windows Live Hotmail and Messenger services can access Windows Live services on mobile via SMS, as Microsoft has connectivity with all major carriers in India. Users can choose to get alerts on their mobile phones whenever they get a mail or an instant message. They can even reply to the messages. And, Microsoft has partnered Vodafone for 'Live Search on Mobile', which offers users a complete search experience.
