Will it, won't it: the guessing game seems to be endless. After we thought Microsoft has announced going with Blu-ray, the company has done a U-turn.
Earlier, the London Financial Times had reported about Sony Corp being in talks with Microsoft to woo the latter to adopt the Blu-ray format for its Xbox 360 gaming console.
We'd even reported Microsoft as having said that it was considering the best possible way to connect with the Blu-ray format.
However, Microsoft has now done a volte-face: it has denied having any talks with Sony for incorporating Blu-ray technology in its Xbox 360.

He said "integration with the 360", meaning they aren't planning on an internal drive. An external drive has still been talked about and not yet denied. His comment was taken out of context. Microsoft would be crazy to forgo Hi-Def format all together, even considering the possibility of HD downloads. They will make an attachment. End of story.

Blu-Ray and HD-DVD are mainly standards for HD video remember ? the games for xbox 360 is made up of program code as well as other data. maybe it would be defficult to store it on blu-ray or maybe it's bcos adding blu-reay drive would make it too expensive.......

The Microsoft ethos is simple...Divide and rule !. They ostensibly backed HD-DVD in the hope of derailing Blu-Ray so that they could proceed with their own agenda of "Downloading is the future".

As a person who worked in the computer industry for design through hp/dell and having dealt with the 2 types, I can say there really isn't a whole lot of difference. I mean Bluray single format is only 5gigs more and dual-layer is 10. not much when looking at single layer really.... 20gbs to 25gbs....... itwas more or less the consumer's trust of sony products as well as marketing companies working with dell and hp to sell blu-ray.

Bill is just pissed off that Sony made a better console, and were smart enough to add bluray tech to it because it is better. HD PICTURE/HD SOUND(Bluray) HD PICTURE/regular sound/ about 15 gigs less disc space (HD DVD).

Not necessarily. M$ strongly believes in Digital Downloads, so why wouldn't they just push the Xbox Live movie downloads at their crazy prices?
