Microsoft Announces Limited Edition Zune

The new edition has been designed by Peter Saville; it will be made available to commemorate the DVD release of "Joy Division", a critically acclaimed documentary, says Microsoft.

Even though Microsoft hasn't yet introduced its Zune player in the Indian market, the company continues to accessorize the portable media player in the western world. Yesterday, it announced the launch of a limited-edition Zune digital media player.

The new edition has been designed by Peter Saville; it will be made available to commemorate the DVD release of "Joy Division", a critically acclaimed documentary, says Microsoft.

Microsoft will pre-load the documentary on to custom black Zune players; they will come etched with an adaptation of Saville's artwork from Joy Division's 'Unknown Pleasures' album.

Reportedly, around 500 limited-edition Zune players will be made available for purchase June 17 for $399.99 through http://www.zune.net and http://www.zuneoriginals.net. In addition, the Zune Marketplace that allows users shop for music, videos, TV shows, and podcasts, will feature exclusive outtakes from the DVD.
