Metal Gear Online Beta Delayed

Konami was slated to release the beta version of "Metal Gear Online" or MGO yesterday, April 21st, but the release date has now been deferred to Saturday, April 25th.

Konami was slated to release the beta version of "Metal Gear Online" or MGO yesterday, April 21st, but the release date has now been deferred to Saturday, April 25th. Subsequently, the end date for the beta has also been postponed from May 5 to 11. Server failure due to extraordinary traffic on Konami's Web site is the reason for this delay, reads a statement on the official MGO Web site.

The game was due to start it's betas spanning two weeks in USA and Europe on separate dates. Players faced a lot of problems downloading the beta package as well as registering with the IDs that were provided to them. A lot of gamers who were getting ready to start playing on Monday complained of installation issues over the weekend. Both the US and Europe betas have now been deferred by four days.

The official statement on the MGO Web site says, "As a temporary measure, we will be deferring the European public beta test and starting it once we stabilize our server. We would like to apologize for all inconvenience as well as confusion caused." Apparently, a spokesperson for Konami UK advised gamers to try the game ID registration process once again after a few days.

"Metal Gear Online" is an extension of online components from "Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence" and "Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops" and was originally intended to be a stand-alone product. However, it is now bundled as part of the "Metal Gear Solid 4" package. For additional information, click here.

it starts late friday night, which is 4/25 , but they say saturday cuz the late night start!!! so saying it starts 4/25 is correct when most people will play it saturday 4/26!!

given the ammount of time i spent tryin to download it, i was fumin, then it took me hours to register my new IDs. so basically i've been wastin my time, that's what i'm hacked off about. even then, with the beta so close to the release date how many changes are they gonna be able to make? i'm not entirely sure i can be bothered to play it after all this, that's why it's a major problem

disgraceful surely they would of known something like this was going to happen? of course millions of people will try and play why wouldnt they this is just another case of bad planning and from Konami this is a major blow for them

register at id.konami.net i used a automatic form filler (FormPro) to get mine superfast during the "slow" period might still be a good idea

I don't get why it says 24:00 PDT on the website. When 24:00 isn't actually a time that we use on planet Earth. It goes from 23:00 to 0:00.

so it was meant to come out on 21st and now its out on the 25th which is a "saturday?" so lets just say 26th, but the end date has an extra 6days so surely the delay to start is also 6 days making it the 27th, which is a SUNDAY, one day after the 26th which is a SATURDAY

Stop getting so damned worked up over the date. It's a beta! they didnt have to release a beta at all. They could have just let you sissies wait till the actual mgs4 release date. so be thankful, and stfu.

You think we should eb thankful? Uh no! They need to do this for their own benefit!!!! It's not a demo fool, imo they DID HAVE TO release a beta. The last two games I played (Vegas2 and COD4) had major teething problems because of the lack of decent betas. Think about the things you say...

The new release date is the 25th at 11pm PDT. That would make it around 7am on the 26th (Saturday) for the UK.

I think in my oppion theres is going to be so much lag on the 25 that it wont even be fun to play. Konami should take their time and make it worth playing instead of rushing it.
