Electronic Arts (EA), one of the world's leading interactive entertainment companies, and Pandemic Studios, one of the world's leading independent game developers, have announced release details for the "Mercenaries 2: World in Flames" game, which is a sequel to "Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction" released in 2005.

The "Mercenaries 2: World in Flames" will be simultaneously released on four platforms, including Xbox 360, PlayStation2 (PS2), PlayStation3 (PS3), and the PC. It is learnt that this game was previously confirmed for a PS3 release only.

Speaking on the occasion, Andrew Goldman, Chief Executive Officer, Pandemic Studios, said, "Mercenaries 2: World in Flames delivers the next evolution in explosive open world game play, regardless of the system you play it on. All four platforms are incredible gaming machines, and from the beginning, we designed an experience that accentuates their individual strengths and delivers the interactive freedom and explosive action Mercenaries fans demand."

The "Mercenaries 2: World in Flames" game will feature open-world action that allows players to take the role of a mercenary. It will also include the latest and most dangerous in civilian and military tech, shiny new sports cars, and an unscripted game world. In addition, the game will also include cooperative multiplayer game play.

The game also features a whole new 'playground of destruction' built from the ground up, fully stocked with the hottest vehicles and weapons. Set in a new and exotic hotspot, players can be their own boss in a wide-open world where everybody has to pay.

Meanwhile, "Mercenaries 2: World in Flames" game will be available on the above-mentioned platforms world-wide in the second quarter this year, making it just about the most widely released next-generation title.
