Maxtor HDD Warranty to be 5 Yrs

Hard disk company Maxtor has announced an increase in the warranty of its hard disk drives sold here from 3 years to 5.
Maxtor Corporation, vendor of hard disk drives and consumer storage products, has announced a five-year warranty period for all internal (non-retail) PC hard drives shipped for sale here.
The new warranty period is effective on products shipped on or after January 1, 2005. It is valid only for warranty services with Maxtor's in-country service centers.
"This additional warranty coverage demonstrates the confidence we have in the quality and reliability of Maxtor hard drives," said Yogesh Kamat, country manager, Indian subcontinent.
"Our channel partners and customers expect and receive the industry's strongest support programs. This offering, together with our world-class service facilities, underscores Maxtor's leadership in ease of doing business," he added.
Maxtor has two service centers in Mumbai, and one each in New Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad.
