Low Priced Laptops from Zenith

The three new additions are: the 'Zenith Director', the 'Zenith Admiral', and the 'Zenith Presidio' -- with prices starting at Rs 24,990.
Zenith Computers has launched three ultra-portable laptops at affordable prices, targeted at entry-level customers and students.
The three new additions are: the 'Zenith Director' with a 15.4-inches wide-screen display, the 'Zenith Admiral' with a 14.1-inches WXGA wide TFT display, and the 'Zenith Presidio' with a 12.1-inches XGA wide-screen display.
The company claims that despite the low prices, there has been no compromise on the software bundle.
The new range of laptops is powered by Intel Pentium Dual Core Processor with Microsoft Vista Starter Edition. The lightweight NBs promise longer battery life, and improved wireless performance. They pack an 80GB hard disk drive, and 256 MB DDR2 533/667 MHz of memory.
The 'Presidio', which is the highest priced among the three, weighs about 1.75 kg, and comes with a built in 4-in-1 card reader, HD audio, and 2 stereo speakers. Customers retain the option to upgrade from Vista Starter Edition to the Basic Edition by paying the difference.
Zenith- 'Director', 'Admiral', and 'Presidio' will retail for Rs 24,990, Rs 27,990, and Rs 28,490 respectively. All laptops will come with an on-site warranty.

i am yousig the director laptop from past 2 years now i find the hing portion bottom portion of screen frame is broken one i had taken to service center they adjusted the screws but again it has broken i have asked them to chang the body or exchage with new one we will pay the difference because it is a manufacture deffict you must replace immedetly we have not recived any information ,we should not decard the laptop for want of spares com shold take katr of manufacture deffects

256 MB RAM is history. Vista needs atleast 1 GB to run properly. Even XP would not run properly on XP. For $500 you get gr8 Laptop deals in US. Indian companies need to do better than this

You Brain is Still Stuck in USA. Ruppe has appreciated. Euro has appreciated & Even Sterling Pounds. When we do the comparitive studies in Exchange Rates. Still Zenith is providing good deal for entry-level laptops. You get Second-hand/ used laptops at this price range in USA. Go for Brain Test!

you have to know few things before saying go to USA, vivek is correct in what he is saying, there is no point in buying a laptop with 258mb RAM for VISTA, it is as good as using a pentium 3 pocessor, it will definitely make your comp so slow its just useless, once you buy this product you will find that you have made a mistake

All I am saying here is that 256MB RAM is no good. You need a machine with atleast a 1GB RAM .... for a pro or for a student. Finally you have to run Microsoft software on this machine and that needs RAM. 25,000 is not a small amount and there is no point buying a machine which will perform to your expectation. Rather see how much its takes to upgrade the RAM for the above Laptops to 1 GB RAM and then compare the prices with dektops or other laptops in market.

For goodness sake, you can add another 1 GB of ram for 1.8k ! Why do you people crib when you are getting a decent laptop for 27k (with 1 Gb ram). You want laptops from the US, go to the US and buy them. We live in India and I feel that if you are on a tight budget, go for Zenith laptop. If you have a decent budget then forget Zenith and choose another brand.

Guys 128 mb ram is more than enough to run windows xp, and forget 1 gb, windows vista is very slow, try to make use of the computer more than trying to upgrade just the ram, try to invent something, this laptops with 512 mb is enough, to do lot of things in xp.

Can anybody please confirm: 1) What is the version of the mother board used in Zenith Director. Is it not Intel's MB ? 2) Is the chipset mentioned as ATI refers to only Graphics chipset or the main chipset. 3) The ATI Graphics Memory of 64 MB is shared or dedicated. 4) And is it Wifi Enabled ?

If this Laptop is having ATI Chipset then why havent they mentioned the S-Video/TV-Out and IEEE ports in the I/O Ports ection of Specifications at Zeniths website.. I m hearing for first time in myself a ATI Chipset that has no S-Video and IEEE port.... Strange isnt it people.????????

The Zenith director laptop uses Ati Radeon Xpress 200M chipset with RC410ME+SB450.. the X200m graphics core is 350mhz and supports direct X fully with shader model 2.0 support It will be ok for running DirectX9 games at medium graphics details settings...

who is leading the Zenith? she don't know vista require minimum of 512Mb. to run good it requires atleaset 1GB RAM. IF u want 2 bundle low cost better to supply with Linux, cost reduces as linux is freeware. increasing 1/2GB RAM vl be most desirable to buy

these idiots frm zenith hav written ATI CHIPSET and Graphics by ATI with a lot of pride but cant they mention which ATI Integrated graphics model is implemented in the chipset like is it ati 1150 or ati x1100 or ati x200m ???????? all indian nutts in zenith always mentioned half info.... or i feel they themselves are unaware of which graphics chip is implemented .hahahahahah...........

Zenith is always making affordable PCs & laptops for common people. But they should improve the Quality rather than giving so much.. Their Moto should be "Give Less But Give Best!!!" Coz Most people who go for low coast, do not want much facilities like web cam, wi-fi, bluetooth, In built Hi-end Graphix etc. Keep It Up.

So exepesive compar to international market. All should be less than $400 or 15000Rs. All I am saying here is that 256MB RAM is no good. You need a machine with atleast a 1GB RAM, 120GB Hard drive.
