Logitech Launches 2 New Webcams
Techtree News Staff Email Print
May 6, 2008
Logitech has announced the launch of its latest Webcams in the QuickCam series -- QuickCam Connect and QuickCam Communicate Deluxe.

The company claims that the QuickCam Connect provides high-quality video and echo-free, lifelike conversations. Whereas, the QuickCam Communicate Deluxe provides sharp and vibrant images in any light.

QuickCam Connect features the company's trademark eyeball design, and comes with a stereo headset. It is claimed to be 33 percent smaller than previous models. A 640 x 480 sensor lets you capture videos and 1.3 million pixels (software-enhanced) still images. The universal monitor clip fits most monitors. The QuickCam Connect comes with a stereo headset, and has built-in microphone with patented RightSound Technology that Logitech claims lets you enjoy crystal clear conversations with or without headsets.

The other new webcam, the QuickCam Communicate Deluxe, comes with a glass lens that the manufacturer claims provides more life-like images sized up to 5 mega pixels. So as to capture images in dim-light settings, the webcam uses RightLight 2 technology. It also features an ultra-wide field of view plus intelligent face tracking to keep you right in the middle of your computer screen. With QuickCam Communicate Deluxe, you can also personalize your conversations with various avatars and face accessories that mirror facial expressions and motion. There's an HP Photosmart Essential software bundled along to capture, edit, customize, and print images.

The QuickCam Connect is priced at Rs 1,095 while the QuickCam Communicate Deluxe is available for Rs 5,895. Both webcams come with a two-year warranty through authorized distributors.
