Works on both the PC and the Mac platforms

Logitech has launched an advanced hybrid G13 Gameboard for gaming on both the PC and Mac platforms. As Gizmodo states, the gameboard has a Comfort Wave design, which complements well with the keyboard and the mouse. The Logitech G13 Gameboard is expected to retail at $80 (Rs. 4000) in the US and Europe from this month. Although we don't have any information about when it will be available in India, we think it might take a while to reach the Indian shores.

The G13 Gameboard has a built-in 160 x 43 pixel GamePanel LCD for peripheral game statistics, system info, and messages from other gamers during LAN-based or online gaming.

The G13 Gameboard offers three game modes, 25 programmable keys, a programmable joystick, and it claims to have up to 87 game control options with the installation of an additional software. Also, there is a colored backlit option available for use in case of low light conditions, and the backlit colors are configurable.

The gameboard also offers preconfigured settings for popular games like World of Warcraft: Burning Crusade, Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, and many others.

The G13 Gameboard looks ideal for laptop users who are into gaming and adds up as yet another PC-Mac gaming peripheral. It's too early to predict what kind of response this gameboard might get from gamers. A majority of them might look at this as their next favored peripheral possession, while some might resist the shift in gaming controls, from keyboard to gameboard. We'd like to hear your word on the same.
