LG to display series of networked BluRay players at CES after which the service should see its commercial launch in the US

At the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show (CES), LG Electronics is all set to display a range of networked BluRay players, which will sport video streaming features.

After tying up with Netflix in July, LG has inked deals with CinemaNow and YouTube, which will enable LG Blu-ray customers, get access to 14,000 movies and shows from CinemaNow. A demo of the program will be displayed at the CES after which the service should see its commercial launch in the US. LG users already had access to Netflix's 12,000 odd programs and movies and this seems to be another massive addition. Additionally, the deal with YouTube means that users would now be able to stream content directly from the Internet to their televisions.

LG seems to be taking advantage of the current economic slump, which has driven consumers to rethink on expenses that include expensive cable and satellite TV subscriptions.
