Techtree News Staff, Sep 26, 2006 1755 hrs IST

At the ongoing "Photokina 2006" in Germany, Kodak unveiled an array of products and services, including the EasyShare Z710 camera.

At the ongoing "Photokina 2006" in Germany, Kodak unveiled an array of products and services ranging form self-serve kiosks and digital capture solutions to professional photo services, unleashing the power of pictures for consumers, professionals, and retailers.

On the occasion, Antonio M Perez, chairman and chief executive officer, Eastman Kodak Company, said, "Kodak invented digital photography, and today's announcements further demonstrate our innovation and commitment to enhance all types of imaging digital, traditional, and mobile. These new products and services allow consumers to enjoy a richer imaging experience."

Amongst the products announced, the Easyshare Z710 zoom digital camera is the latest addition to Kodak's award-winning line of consumer digital cameras. The camera, with a 2-inch screen, provides point-and-shoot simplicity together with advanced features to get professional-looking results.

The Z710 combines the powerful 7.1 megapixel image sensor with a professional quality Schneider 10X optical zoom lens, which makes it simple to zoom and capture crisp shots, and make high-quality prints of up to 30 x 40 inches (76 x 102 cm). The camera also features the exclusive Kodak Color Science imaging processing chip, which helps in capturing natural details, accurate skin tones, and breathtaking color.

With on-camera picture enhancing features such as cropping, a live histogram, and a capture grid line display, the Z710 allows for more creativity in each and every shot. In addition, the camera comes with 19 pre-programmed scene and color modes that help users to get the right shot.

The entire Easyshare line, including the Z710, is specifically designed to make sharing images just as fun and rewarding as capturing them. The Z710 comes with the latest version 6.0 of Kodak Easyshare Software, featuring many enhancements like a photo card printing feature that turns pictures into invitations.

The camera will be available for retail in the US for approximately $299 (Rs 13,754).

Other Kodak products and services announced at Photokina include the Picture Kiosk GS Digital Station; the Picture Kiosk G4 Software, V1.1; the Easyshare Photo Printer 350; and the Nexpress Photo Bundle.

The Picture Kiosk GS Digital Station sports a 17-inch touch-screen monitor, and the ability to print from a full range of input methods, including Bluetooth wireless technology. The device takes just 11 seconds per print, and yields 750 (4x6) prints per roll. It will be available for installation in Europe, beginning October 2006.

The Picture Kiosk G4 Software V1.1 creates photographic specialty products such as greeting cards, calendars, and collages instantly from the kiosk, without any additional hardware expense.

The Easyshare Photo Printer 350 connects to camera phones for high-quality prints. Using Bluetooth wireless technology, the 350 prints 4 x 6 photos directly from Bluetooth-enabled devices.

The Nexpress Photo Bundle providing increased revenue opportunities for digital print providers, includes software and hardware components to enhance a Kodak Nexpress system for high quality digital photo applications.
