Kodak has unveiled the EasyShare V610 digital camera, which the company calls the world's tiniest 10X optical zoom camera.

Typically 38-380 mm is considered as 10X optical zoom. However the V610 incorporates two zoom lenses; the wider-angle lens has a 38-114 mm range (35-mm equivalent) and the other one has a 130-380mm range (35-mm equivalent). Unlike other digicams with continuous zoom, the V610 features a small jump that takes place whilst switching from one lens to the other.
After Kodak's V570 camera introduced in January 2006, the Kodak V610 is the second digicam to utilize dual-lens form factor dubbed "Kodak Retina Dual Lens" technology.
The V610 is less than an inch in thickness and around 4.5 x 2.25 inches in dimensions, and features a large 2.8-inch LCD. With integrated Bluetooth technology, the V610 has Bluetooth hardware built into the camera allowing it to transmit photos to compatible PDAs, computers, printers and other devices.
Up to 100 images can be stored in the camera's Favorites mode and subsequently synchronized with images stored in an EasyShare album on the computer.
Other features of the new camera include 32MB of on-board memory, image enhancement, digital-image stabilization and noise-reduction capabilities. The camera allows VGA-size video clips (with MPEG-4 video compression) at 30 fps (frames per second) and lets users utilize the entire zoom range during filming.
The EasyShare V610 is expected to ship this spring for around $449.
