Kingston Releases DDR2-800 FB-DIMMs
Techtree News Staff Email Print
Apr 24, 2008
Kingston Technology today announced releasing a family of DDR2-800 fully-buffered dual-inline memory modules (FB-DIMMs) designed for systems using Intel's Seaburg S5400 chipset. First launching its ValueRAM modules, Kingston will then ship DDR2-800 FB-DIMMs in capacities ranging between 512MB and 4GB.

Ann Bai, product manager (DRAM Memory - APAC Region) of Kingston, said, "Today's dual Xeon systems using the new 1600MHz front-side bus quad-core processors demand a robust memory solution to match processor bandwidth with memory bandwidth. Our DDR2-800 FB-DIMMs deliver the blazing performance and reliability required by high performance servers and workstations."

Kingston claims its DDR2-800 FB-DIMMs are capable of delivering up to 25.6 GB/s bandwidth with four active memory channels thus matching bandwidth needs of the latest Xeon processors. The 2GB and 4GB FB-DIMMs enable a flexible upgrade path while leaving plenty of headroom for future RAM expansion.

Pricing of the new FB-DIMMs is as follows:
KVR800D2S8F5/512 (Rs 1,890)
KVR800D2S8F5K2/1G (Rs 3,770)
KVR800D2D8F5/1G (Rs 2,875)
KVR800D2D8F5K2/2G (Rs 5,750)
KVR800D2D4F5/2G (Rs 6,370)
KVR800D2D4F5K2/4G (Rs 12,745)
KVR800D2D4F5/4G (Rs 19,190)
KVR800D2D4F5K2/8G (Rs 38,385)
