Newer pointing technologies may overtake the mouse sooner than you think.
The ubiquitous mouse that's nestled in your palm even as you're reading this may soon be a thing of the past - even sooner than you think. According to analysts, the now 40 year old mouse will be replaced by "in" things like facial recognition and touch screens.
And why not? Newer pointing technologies like the Wii's Motion Plus and the iPhone's touch interface are revolutionary and offer greater accuracy in motion detection. Although the iPhone's screen size may be too small for full-fledged application, a similar interface for a computer would be nothing short of amazing.

This atricle is useless. Really no information in it. Looks likr someone wanted to fill in a page and just wrote something. Nothing really makes sense.

It doesn't make sense. Why would the advent of things like Wii Motion Plus and tactile screens kill the mouse? We still need to point, click, select, drag, play CS, photoshop, play some more CS, type a bit, play, highlight ....and how the hell is facial recognition and two way feed back help me in all that?! Give me slight electric jolt when i produce a windows error? Create an interface that reads my thoughts and converts them into actions in the GUI - and make it economic enough for mass production - THEN, my friend, you shall see the end of the line for the trusty mouse..
