Waiting for Intel to update their mobile processor road map and come out with low-cost quad-core mobile processor?

Apple is rumored to be working on a new 17-inch Aluminum MacBook pro, which will include Intel's new low-cost Q9000 quad-core mobile processor reports APCMag. If this stands true, then the quad-core MacBook Pro might be launched at the upcoming MacWorld 2009 conference in January 2009.

As reported yesterday, Intel had introduced a low-cost 2.53GHz Core 2 Quad mobile Q9000 CPU listed at $348 (approx. Rs. 16,850). It's possible that Apple might be waiting for Intel to update their mobile processor road map and come out with low-cost quad-core mobile processor.

Apple just revised the specifications of 17-inch MacBook Pro and launched new unibody Aluminum MacBook Pro in 15-inch form factor only. So it's obvious that Apple might be canning the Unibody Aluminum technology on their 17-inch MacBook Pro soon.

Currently, the 17-inch MacBook Pro sells at $2,799 (approx Rs. 1,35,500) and if Apple launches new unibody 17-inch MacBook Pro, the price barrier might cross $3,000 (approx. Rs. 1,45,000) for packing Intel Q9000.

Imagine what blazing combo: new 17-inch MacBook Pro with quad-core processor running Mac OS X Snow Leopard. That could be Apple Fans' dream MacBook Pro. For official details, we'll have to wait till MacWorld 2009.
