Intex Technologies, the Indian hardware and telecommunications company, has added the IN 3030 music phone to its growing family of mobile phones.

Claimed to be a 'one of its kind' mobile phone, the IN 3030 is a music-oriented device equipped with water, sweat, and dust resistant technology - features rarely seen on other phones in this price band. The phone also incorporates an FM radio, an audio player, and voice and audio recording capability. The above-mentioned features would make the phone an apt device for people engaged in extensive traveling and rugged sporting activities. The company claims that the phones can also be used by the common man - farmers, fishermen, factory and construction workers, etc. - people who normally handle a phone with sweaty and dusty hands.

The IN 3030's electronic circuitry is protected by a special film and the joints are effectively sealed by rubber gaskets, owing to which, the phone can withstand dust, moisture, and water being splashed on it. Therefore, the owner can easily give the phone a quick wash (after closing the charging socket), and then shake it dry and use it. It is also designed to perform at very low and very high temperature and high humidity conditions. The handset conforms to the Japanese JIS (IPX grade 5) standard for water resistance.

Other additions that make the phone an interesting buy is the presence of features like a mobile tracker and expandable memory up to 1 GB. The handset has been launched at a special introductory price of Rs. 3500 (MOP).
