The Nemertes report warns that by 2010, our friendly information super highway might become so clogged with data, forcing Broadband users to return to using dial-up modems.
Too much dependence on the Internet is fine, except that by 2010, we might be headed for an information highway traffic jam that will make life on the Internet extremely difficult.
This -- as per a newly minted study by US analyst, Nemertes Research, partly-funded by the Internet Innovation Alliance (IIA) that campaigns for universal Broadband in the US.
The Nemertes report warns that by 2010, our friendly information super highway might become so clogged with data, forcing Broadband users to return to using dial-up modems.

ya that may be. bcoz day to day the dependence to internet is increasing. this cud be tackled by increasing more broad band vendors and fine satellites to handle more download-upload memory by applying good protocol system.

Lies all lies, The fiber optic backbone of the United States is still underused. Why do you think companies like Quest had such a hard time a few years ago and why it only costs 1 cent or even free to call cross crountry and even international. My feeling this is a ploy by the telecom companies to exhort more money for less services. Simply tell the the telcom compnaies to light up more of the fiber optic network. They only use something like 20% of its current capacity now. Now with new multispectral capabilities it could mean that the current 20% could be reduced to 1 or 2%.

Excellent! very well said JEB, this article is nothing but farce. Technological advancement will make it even more smooth to surf the internet, get unimaginable speeds, and do stuff that we never thought would be possible.
