As the 48-hour countdown ended at 6:45 IST today, the 15th flight of India's PSLV began carrying with it the made-in-Israel RISAT and India's first student-made satellite, Anusat.

By the time you read this, both the satellites would be in their respective orbits. The RISAT, as mentioned earlier is an Israel-made spy satellite which will be used to monitor and check infiltration. It has all-weather capabilities and at 300kgs, is lightweight if you look at all the capabilities it offers. The AnuSat which is the second payload aboard the C12, is a tiny student-made satellite designed by students of the Madras Institute of Technology.
