More Windows Mobile in the offing

HTC is one manufacturer that has been consistently releasing new Android and Windows Mobile Phones. However, of late we have seen them releasing quite a few Android based phones. Does this mean, folks over at HTC are making a gradual shift to the free Android and slowly ditching the old workhorse, Windows Mobile?

According to Jon French, country manager at HTC UK and Ireland. The answer is a big no! In a recent interview with Mobile News CWP he affirmed that Windows Mobile is certainly a priority and that we will see more Windows Mobile based devices in the future. Additionally, with Windows Mobile 7 too on the anvil. it is only going to be  an exciting year as far as the Windows Mobile platform is concerned. HTC had just recently announced three new WM phones, the HTC Touch Diamond2, HTC Touch Pro2 and HTC Snap.

On the Android side, the platform is getting more players and more phones. Additionally, going by the new interface that has appeared on Sony's implementation of the platform, things are getting exciting here as well. However, HTC has no plans to "ditch" Windows Mobile in favor of Android - not at least in the near future.
