HTC Touch2 launched in India

After introducing HTC Magic and HTC Hero in quick succession, Touch2 is launched in India. The new HTC Touch2 doesn't look like an update of Touch model but surely looks like an older brother of Touch 3G. What HTC boasts about is that the Touch2 phone comes with Windows Mobile 6.5 pre-loaded on it. At the moment, HTC Touch2 has been launched with Reliance GSM network, so, it sounds like exclusive. Reliance Communications promises six months of free data usage at 200MB per month.
We know not if HTC would be retailing unlocked HTC Touch2 models. The price of new Touch2 over Reliance GSM network is set at Rs. 24,490 (say thanks to VAT hike) for Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh. For rest of India, Touch2 would be available for Rs. 22,490 through authorized HTC resellers.
HTC is pushing Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional as the highlight of the phone which brings along Windows Marketplace for Mobile. Touch2 also boasts of Microsoft Exchange support and Microsoft's My Phone backup service support.
Innards of Touch2 comprise 528MHz Qualcomm MSM7225 CPU with 512MB ROM and 256MB RAM - beastly enough to run HTC TouchFLO interface smoothly. With 2.8-inch TFT-LCD touchscreen display with QVGA resolution, Touch2 also features 3.2 megapixel camera and internal GPS antenna. Unfortunately, there isn't an accelerometer in Touch2.
Other features of Touch2 include Bluetooth 2.1, WiFi (802.11b/g), and 1100 mAh battery offering talk time of merely four hours! Music listeners won't have any problems since the phone offers 3.5mm audio jack and has microSD expansion slot.
For a GSM phone without 3G, the price seems to be high. However, the verdict will be given once we test it.
