Hewlett Packard (HP) India has announced the Compaq dc7800, claimed to be the industry's first desktop PC incorporating a Solid State hard drive (SSD), coming in an ultra-slim form factor.
Meant for business users, the dc7800 boasts a slew of environmentally-friendly features to comply with stringent environmental requirements of the Electronic Product Environmental Assessment Tool (EPEAT) Gold registry.
The included SSD allows for superior performance and durability in the form of near-instant access to data and elimination of moving parts that typically cause a lot of wear and tear. There are other advantages too, including faster boot times, improved power efficiency, shock improvement, and a smaller overall footprint. According to HP, dc7800 is the smallest business-ready desktop being around 46 percent smaller than its predecessors, at the same time providing 85 percent power efficiency.
Just like a concept car lol,But any way seem good why dontindian companies think on same pattern, some people say prices must fall down why u people want every thing for free try spend money on the hard work of developers and designers

looks and features are superb but i think compact system maybe face some thermal or over heating problem according to indian invoirnment and climate

Do we really need SSDs in desktop... well with falling laptop prices, if a person needs mobility its better to go for laptop instead of desktop, and if u dont need mobility, then go for a more powerful config by saving the extra req. for SSDs... isn't it.

Now a days the Laptops are being sold for less than 40K bugs. To better hit the market it should project its feature Vs cost. but this could enter into bussiness sector.

What about self troubleshooting once the warranty is over. Can it be upgraded, viz. addition of extra HDD, DVD Roms, RAM etc. as in the present day CPU. If not, then of no use.

It is superb for business and offices. Curtail space requirements, energy and its features are outstanding for middle class. Keep its cost between Rs.20,000 to Rs.25,000 with present specifications.
