Guruji.com has announced a partnership with OneIndia. Henceforth, OneIndia and the Guruji Search Engine will power all searches on OneIndia.

Anurag Dod, Co-Founder and CEO of Guruji.com, said, "This partnership will expose our search engine to a large user base that will benefit from our ability to deliver more relevant results to them. OneIndia users will now have relevant and specific India centric info on their site, Guruji is completely India centric, our tie up with Infomedia recently has also turned out to be well appreciated. We now have 14 districts actively in our data base, and in three months time we will have twenty cities with us. By mid January we are planning vernacular language search as well."

Guruji.com, founded by two graduates from IIT Delhi, and launched this October, focuses on developing search products for enhancing the Indian user experience. Crawl Technology, used by Guruji.com, is a complex computing system that crawls the Web, identifying Indian content using sophisticated algorithms. The technology is built on a distributed architecture that can scale up with the growing needs of the users. It crawls the Web, indexes the data that it gathers, and provides the user with a simple keyword-based interface to get to the data quickly and efficiently.

Meanwhile, OneIndia brings all the latest happenings in India and the world over. It focuses on bringing to consumers the most compelling content from the world of current affairs and entertainment day after day.

The partnership will enable OneIndia users to get precise search results, thus improving the user experience greatly. With the realization of this partnership, OneIndia will be replacing the existing search provider with Guruji.com.

B Mahesh, CEO of OneIndia said, "Guruji.com has the technology and the passion to deliver the best search to the Indian consumer. We evaluated all the major players, including the global leaders, and chose Guruji's search over them because their technology delivers the best search results. We realize search is a very key user
experience on our portal, and we are happy to partner with a young and dynamic company that shares our vision to give user experience the highest priority."

Jack ji reinventing somthing like Google is initself is a BIG thing, wht i mean here is then whole page crowling , caching , indexing and whole lot of things exact replication is not a simple task to do & im proude of that as an indian, now wht i expect from them is to enhance it futher and provide HIndi word search maping with english words so that peopl can search content related to HINDI also.

jack, even google is a strong search engine but it has got some disadvantages too. A very basic disadvantage is its broad level search. it also displays those pages what you is not required at all. like if you search for CARS and you are expecting only CAR model to get listed, even it displays all pages containing CARS. Bottom line is "It does not work proper while CONTENT search". And google is for international user while guruji is for indian user. I am sure in next coming days guruji will touch its esteemed dimentions.
