After a whole round of rumors, Activision has finally confirmed the title "Guitar Hero: Rocks the 80s" exclusively for the PlayStation2 (PS2).

"Guitar Hero: Rocks the 80s" will pay homage to a classic rock era with '80s hair metal, and hits from several other genres that rocked the eighties.

Debuting this summer, the title will feature visually stunning retro
rock venues and hipster characters, unlockable guitars, intense game play modes, and most importantly, 30 new songs promising ultimate rock star fantasy.

The initial list of tracks will include 'I Wanna Rock' by Twisted Sister, 'I Ran' by Flock of Seagulls, 'Round and Round' as made famous by Ratt, 'I Want Candy' by Bow Wow Wow, 'Metal Health' by Quiet Riot, 'Holy Diver' by Dio, and 'Heat Of The Moment' by Asia.

Dusty Welch, Head of Publishing at RedOctane, said, "The 80s features an amazing variety of rock genres from hair metal to punk to new wave, and our dedicated 'Guitar Hero' fans will definitely appreciate the opportunity to play all the new and exciting content we've added."

"Guitar Hero: Rocks the 80s" is published by RedOctane and developed by Harmonix, who are also the original developers of "Guitar Hero" and "Guitar Hero II". It will be available this summer for the PlayStation2, the company said.

Apart from this, "Guitar Hero III" is also reportedly under development by Neversoft for release later this year on PS2, PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii.
