Gears of War 2 (Xbox 360) Slated For November

Microsoft has made it official at the Game Developers Conference (GDC) 2008 that Gears of War 2 will make it to the Xbox 360 in November. The GDC is the largest annual gathering of video game developers. Rumors regarding a sequel to the blockbuster Gears of War have been doing the rounds for a while now, and gamers everywhere seem very happy indeed.
Gears of War 2 is said to be a larger-than-life story of epic proportions revolving around survival, loss, and such major things. It continues the story of Marcus Fenix and Delta Squad, who are locked in a desperate battle for the survival of humanity.
The sequel is being developed by Epic Games for Microsoft Game Studios. The announcement of the sequel was made by Cliff Bleszinski, lead designer of Epic Games, at the GDC.
According to Bleszinski, "Gears of War 2 is an even bigger, better, and more badass experience than the first game, and we can't wait to get it in the hands of eager gamers this November." No specific details about the game have been disclosed -- except, of course, for the fact that the battle will continue -- but you can find more info about GOW as well as GOW2 here.
The first Gears of War was released in November 2006, and sold 3 million copies worldwide in the first 10 weeks of its release. In fact, it became so popular that New Line Cinema went ahead and acquired the rights to make a movie based on the game.

Ivan, you probably don't even have a 360. If you did, you would know it is way better than ps3 and I have never gotten the Ring of Death. I dont even believe it exists. The only thing the ps3 has goin for it is free online. The problem with that is, ps3 has no good games to play online.

I got the ring of death, sent it to Microsoft, and they gave me a new Xbox. It does exist, but it's not a big deal. Seriously.

OMG this is Microsoft's comeback what a joke. They think they can compete against a beast like Sony which has so many exclusives that can crush the life of the Xbox 360 for ever like Resistance 2 Killzone 2 Metal Gear Solid 2: Guns of the Patriots FFXIII GOW3 and many more A++ games to come. Gears of War just proof one think Microsoft's Game Studio is not capable of many things like making good games themselves they need other companies IP the other will be Microsoft is not capable of creating any other genre just FPS. One day Microsoft will have to come from denial just like all Xbox 360 owners one game cannot hold an entire video game console especially when it has so many problems like Red Light of Death and overheating or Xbox Live lagging. Sony doesn't need fear this crap is just a joke how bad Microsoft doesn't know games. PS3 is destine for greatness Xbox 360 is destine to fail as anything.

Microsoft has been pounding the life out of Sony on a daily basis. Wake up and smeel the profit margins- if this was a fist fight the ref would have called it. Sony has some major fresh life with the whole blu ray victory but this dated "Playstation dominantes Xbox" idea is long dead. I used to be Sony all the way- now I'm xbox till death.
I gaurantee sony executives wish they had a franchise to promote like Gears of War- it's one of the greatest games ever.
P.S- looking forward to MGS2 (six years ago).

Hate to break it to you, but not only does the 360 have more exclusives, the PS3 sales haven't even compared to the Wii sales since it launched, let alone the 360 sales. Face it, dude. Sony lost this one.

The Halo trilogy has sold more copies than all the games he said combined. I cant help it but to laugh. I have question for him to. man do you work for sony ? as far as gaming goes the 360 beats ps3 hands down. ive played allmost all of the current range of ps3 games up to a year b4 ps3 owners on the 360 !! and when you compare a title on both machines ps3 versions have jerky backgrounds and awfull frame rate problems, dont belive me check assasins creed or need for speed. as for blue ray i bought a console to play games not watch movies. get it up u sony

But when was the last time Sony released a "power-house exclusive" game, with as much fan-fare and anticipation as the 360 when they released Halo 2 or 3? The Xbox 360 has MANY titles on it thats arn't FPS based and more to come (Fable 2 for example) Mass Effect, which was an Epic Story Line. Halo Wars which is gonna be strategy. I can keep going if you like. And whats this about PS3 being so great.. when it was rated oh yeah 3rd out of 3 major game systems... I was a PS fan for years. Couldn't afford the ps 3 so I went and bought an xbox 360. Best investment ever, for gaming. Gears of War is the best game out there. The third person shooter dominates all first person shooter games (halo 3, call of duty 4). Some people have said that most to all games will go to first person. To all of you, third person to me personally is the future. Gears of War proves it. And to all those playstation fans, beware. Xbox is here to stay and will be the future. Playstation crumbled with that blue ray tech. You need to do yourselves a favor and don't waste your money on a Playstation.

I was a long time fan of sony but they have lost there edge and now it is up for grabs but honestly there not even on the radar. i read the consumer reports and even with microsofts red rings there games have outsold sonys exclusives by far. so if i was you i'd start investing in another system aslong as it do not start with s and end with ony
