Reliance Communications (RCom) is planning to hold its "Gamebox National Championship 2008" (GNC '08) in all 242 Reliance World outlets across 105 cities in the country.
Billed as the country's biggest online gaming championship, the competition is now in its fourth year, and this year, will see participation from over 15,000 gamers. RCom has specially installed over 4,500 gaming terminals at its 242 Reliance World outlets for the event.
Top five games to be played at the GNC '08 include the popular multi-player game, Counter Strike 1.6, and four single-player games -- Age of Mythology, Half Life 2- Deathmatch, Need for Speed: Underground, and Warcraft III: Frozen Throne.
As part of the GNC '08, contests will be held at four levels, including Store, Circle, Zonal, and National. One multi-player team and four single game players will lock horns in the final match.
Counter Strike 1.6 winners will be able to take home a booty of Rs 2 lacs while single-player game winners will stand to win up to Rs 40,000 each in prize money.
Gamers can register at the nearest Reliance World outlet. The last date for registration is Jan 30, 2008.

Circle level: Feb 2nd and 3rd
Zonal level: Feb 4th and 5th
Finals: Feb 9th and 10th (Mumbai)
