Gadgets for Google Docs

Google yesterday announced that it has taken a step towards adding more utility to its Web-based spreadsheet application.
If you happen to use Google Docs, or generally find Google's various "on the house" offerings pleasing, their Gadgets for Spreadsheets along with other new features should interest you.
Google Docs, as you might know, includes a Web-based word processor, spreadsheet, and presentation application; you can edit these and even share them with contacts -- and you needn't pay anything for these services.
Google yesterday announced that it has taken a step towards adding more utility to its Web-based spreadsheet application. Gadgets will allow users to create graphical representations of data through fancy charts, pivots, or any cool visualization in spreadsheets, which users can publish on Web sites. And there are lots of gadgets that users can choose from; more information about them can be found here. Alternatively, if you're a developer, you could perhaps make your own.
To make the spreadsheet application even more effective, when you share a spreadsheet with other contacts or when others make any changes to the same, you will be notified through an email alert that can be set to either once a day or as and when changes are made. Besides, changes made will be highlighted so you needn't go hunt for them.
There's also a new auto-complete function that will help users remember exactly how a formula is spelt and what parameters it needs. This feature is meant to give you hints while you type in columns. Apart from all these, there's a GoogleFinance function that can be used to view historical prices of stocks.
